Like Breath of Fire? What about Tabletop RPGs?

(Notice: Mods, I was not sure where to put this, so if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it. For the moment, this just seemed the appropriate place.)

So if you said yes to at least one of the things I put in the title, then boy do I have a thing for you!

So, while I still ADORE Breath of Fire, Tabletop RPGs, namely the infamous Dungeons and Dragons, that's right, Satan's Game, has taken over my life. but I always find myself turning back to Breath of Fire one way or another. Be it basing some of my PCs after my faves, or my current project....

So, I'm working on making Breath of Fire resources to be played for 5e. It will all be homebrew, and for non profit use (Obviously lmao) and probably just for games based around the world of Breath of Fire's I-III with a few elements from IV/V: Dragon Quarter mixed in. The biggest things I want to work on are Races, and tweaking things to work with D&D's 5e system. This may include making an entire Monster Manual from enemies/bosses in game.

The biggest thing I will have to deal with, though, is probably making sure the races featured though the games are as balanced as they can be. The biggest challenges or me seem to be the Brood/Dragon Clan and the Woren tribe, however I do want to make any use of Dragon or Weretiger forms available.

Some races will also have subthypes, with Racials that can replace the default racials, like how Tieflingsor Elves work. As far as playable classes, I think i will be okay with the normal 5e classes, since I don't see them needing too much tweaking to fit into most worlds. Or maybe I'm wrong, only time will tell.

Once I'm satisfied with what I have, I might or might not run a campaign. For now, this is all a Work in Progress, and anyone willing to offer up advice, suggestions, or critique are welcome to.

I'm hoping to make something fun and entertaining for those of us who love Roleplay, Tabletop, or just want somethingclose to the game to do. This is something I have had on my mind for a while now, and I aim to make this a finished project in the long run.
And I mean hell, if you have to spend the rest of your life as a memory...

Hey Ejdeha, I ran such a campaign (in 3.5) for my friends back in 2013 and posted stats for all the races on a blog I started and haven't updated in a while <https://goldflypudding.blogspot.com/>. Originally I took some inspiration from from another site (which I can't find right now), and then ended up delving into the entire 3.5 book library and writing up entries for the missing races. Even though it's 3.5 it may help you get started or give some inspiration. I also have more extensive notes (which are not all digitized) for monster conversions and dragon forms which I can share if you like.

Please excuse me if it takes a while to tidy up any additional documents for posting: To start off Here's the dragon form rules I ended up using, edited from the wild shape ability with a little bit of balancing added. It's probably still a little overpowered for my taste.
Dragon Wild Shape (Su)
-Dragon Clans men gain the ability to turn herself into a Small or Medium dragon and back again once per day. You gain all the extraordinary and supernatural abilities of the dragon whose form you take, but not any spell-like abilities or spellcasting powers. Changing form (to dragon or back) is a standard action and doesn’t provoke an attack of opportunity. HP in dragon form is capped at the same amount of hit die that the player currently has. Each dragon form has its own HP pool, each of which is not refreshed until a full night’s rest.
-The options for dragon form are affected by alignment. i.e. Good dragon clan cannot change into evil dragons.
-Any gear worn or carried by the clansman melds into the new form and becomes nonfunctional. When the clansman reverts to her true form, any objects previously melded into the new form reappear in the same location on her body that they previously occupied and are once again functional. Any new items worn in the assumed form fall off and land at the clansman’s feet.
-A dragon clansman loses her ability to speak while in animal form because she is limited to the sounds that a normal, untrained animal can make, but she can communicate normally with other animals of the same general grouping as her new form. (The normal sound a wild parrot makes is a squawk, so changing to this form does not permit speech.)
-A dragon clansman can use this ability additional times per day at the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 10th levels after gaining this ability as well as another time at 18th character level. In addition, she gains the ability to take the shape of a Large dragon at 5th level after gaining this ability, a Tiny dragon 7 levels after, and a Huge dragon at 15th character level.
-The new form’s Hit Dice can’t exceed the character’s level.
-10 levels after gaining this ability, a dragon clansman becomes unrestricted to dragons matching his alignment.

This is a great basis! I think we an work with this. Later I'll tell you any changes I think an be made for balance/to fit in best with 5e rules.
