I remember messing around with the abilities with Game Shark; I so remember that ice move that freezes the game lol

i recently tried to see how long it would take to rush through the story when all the stats and equipment is at max with an emulator and the ntsc rom of the game. sadly the codes for garr, peco and momo and the skillcodes weren't working. but i still got to the lighthouse in under an hour^^ its a little tricky, since the fight against the horsebros and garr are technically unbeatable, which is sad, cause i always wanted to just go on playing teepo, ryu and rei. playing them as a grown up party would have been awesome... two dragons and a weretiger - the world would lie to my feet^^

really cool find Mebbles!

I suspect that Unused track 3 was intended to play after you beat Teepo and Rei and Ryu gather around him one last time.

Several years ago I realized that I had a glitched Breath of Fire III game, which gave Teepo a plethora of equipment that I had never seen before in the game. I tried searching for it on the web, but I never found anyone else who had experienced what I did.

Here's a video I took of the glitch...

Peace.

I just noticed this topic. Actually, that unused track is used in the JP version, in the one Faerie job that was removed from the English version: Poem writing. Here's a vid of it in action:

The poems are generated randomly whenever you talk to the Faerie in charge. This was assigned to the 2nd Faerie in the Casino job, which in English does nothing. Why it was removed? Best bet is that the translator just didn't want to translate all that text (a similar case to Scias' removed "Identify" skill in IV)

The page seems to be missing a few unused spells (there's a non-working full-party Purify, for example) and other stuff. Looking around, the page for IV is quite mistaken too (most of those items are perfectly obtainable by harvesting the tree in the Faerie Village)

Yeesh, so Breath of Fire I removes tons of text, Breath of Fire II keeps it but writes it horribly, Breath of Fire III removes a faerie job, and Breath of Fire IV removes tons of content? Makes me glad that Breath of Fire V only changed Cupid into a girl... It's embarrassing how many issues these games had in localization. x_x
"This is the story of a boy's quest, to see the sky in order to save the girl, and break free from this underground world."

In the game files, these poems are made up of separate words, so it would be technically difficult to translate them into any language. And they decided to simply cut them.

The English version is also missing "weak points" of the Identify skill:

Here's how we did it in our Russian translation:

Whhhaaatttt they had a weaknesses chart in other versions of the game? That would of made my life a lot easier when I was younger, I remember trying all the different spells on a lot of monsters to find their weak points and writing them down in a notebook...WHY CAPCOM? WHY?!?!
